Atiku Is The Unifier Nigeria Needs – Support Group In Oyo

Atiku Support Group (ATI-SUG), Oyo State Chapter has said that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the PDP Presidential Flag bearer who Nigeria needs to be totally free from the Socio-economic and political cum security challenges facing the nation.

In a press statement signed by Otunba Ola Abraham Isho, the Oyo state PRO of the group on Monday, the PDP presidential candidate was described as a team player, a pillar of stability and political unifier.

According to the group, it was noteworthy that after the demise of General Yaradua arguably the most powerful politician from the North after late Sardauna of Sokoto, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Waziri Of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON , has since emerged as the time tested strongman of the North who inherited and conceded the Yaradua Structures to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

The statement read in part: “It is on record, that when we’ll known anti-democratic forces tried to instigate AAA against his principal and altercations occured and it was amicably settled whereas AAA had the capacity to turn the table against his ex boss’, he never did so .

“That benevolent and benign Atiku has distinguished him over time as an self effacing modest Individual who unlike his opponent don’t flaunt himself around nor ‘fight like pigs’

“Who else can be trusted in a hurting democracy like ours to provide therapeutic leadership to our ailing polity if not the man who have seen it all in a 32 years long political odyssey in the Nigerian Odyssey and yet would not go on TV to insult his superiors or be telling boastful and immodest ” Emilokan” stories or rude “,olulee” remarks or disaparaging ” eleyi ” broadsides at official potentates and formally elected representatives of the people ? We at ATI-SUG believes the morning shows the day and there is more to worry about beyond the issue of Moslem/Moslem ticket, when a presidential candidate cannot emulate the Atiku self control and would brag and threaten his patrons most menacingly few minutes after being handed the party flag.”

The group said it has refused to be drawn into the noisy bickering and war of words between the different support groups working for the 3 main Nigerian Presidential Candidates because this indeed should be a moment of sobriety, introspectiveness, reflectiveness and contemplativeness in order for Nigerians to make a calm wise choice and not be bamboozled with the ethno-religious card which the APC used as their flight ticket in 2015 and 2019 and which has not exploded in their hands.

The group enjoined all the people of Oyo State not to be misled by the noisy ambits of those who ran down the state for 8 years and ended up with Unfulfilled promises and projects , leaving the people worse than what it was before the party’s ill-fated advent into the governance of Oyo State.

The group commended Engr Seyi Makinde, FNSE, the State Governor for pioneering the Nigerian rescue mission in Oyo State, and providing the ideological structure upon which the National Rescue Mission is based under the Atiku Flag-captainship .

The group expressed pride in Governor Seyi Makinde FNSE and in the fact that the rescue mission was first piloted in Oyo State under him. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, the group said deserves the honour to have the Oyo State Rescue Mission structure transferred to as it’s national leader, pilot and Flag-captain because of his long time financial support for Oyo State popular cause.

The group recalled that it was this same Alhaji Atiku Abubakar whom Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu turned to for critical financial support in election day in 2003 and that there was no time since then when Atiku turned his back at Oyo State.

The group therefore described him as our friend in Oyo State whose people has benefitted immensely from his large heartedness than Osun State home of his wife.

The group assured Alhaji Atiku Abubakar GCON, that Oyo State people have never been ingrates as shown by past records of their support for him and will do same in 2023.

The group also announced it’s plan to take Oyo State by storm for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and all PDP Flahbearers from bottom to top,(BTT) with a series of events and programs which would kick up with a press conference at NUJ Press Center, Iyaganku, Ibadan at a date to be later announced.
