A former Oyo state commissioner, Hon Asimiyu Ado and other members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ibadan South-West local government area of Oyo State on Wednesday defected to ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The defectors were received by the PDP state chairman, Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, who noted that the Lamidi Adidibu political family in the state was being solidified.
The event held at the premises of the United Missionary College (UMC).
He expressed delight that many of the disciples of the strongman of Ibadan politics that had left the party were returning.
The PDP chairman added that the remaining members of the family that were still outside the PDP should return to enable it to present a formidable front in Ibadan southwest in particular and Oyo state at large.
Mustapha said the PDP remained the party to beat in the state as the governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, had raised the bar of governance and become a reference point for other states.
