Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan), on Tuesday, 26 July, 2022 led members of the Oyo State APC Reconciliation Committee to the palace of the Aseyin of Iseyin, to commiserate with the family and the people of the ancient town, over the demise of the monarch, Oba AbdulGaniy Adekunle Salawudeen, Ajinase Oloogunebi I, who joined his ancestors last Sunday.

The Committee, which was on tour of Oke-Ogun as part of efforts to pacify members over grievances which arose consequent upon the just concluded congresses and primaries of the APC, had earlier met party stakeholders from Oke-Ogun 2 at Saki Parapo Town Hall and those from Oke-Ogun 1 in Okeho, before proceeding to the Aseyin’s Palace, where it was received by members of the monarch’s family.

Lanlehin in his remarks expressed sadness at the untimely demise of the Aseyin; aged 62, lamenting that death took away such a wonderful monarch at a time when his town, the state and the country at large needed his cerebral contributions to nation-building and community development.

“My memories of the late Oba were especially fond; as one could see through his words and deeds that he was a man who loved his town dearly, and his people genuinely,” Lanlehin who represented Oyo South Senatorial District between 2011 and 2015 opined.

Speaking further, Senator Lanlehin lauded the rapid growth and development which Iseyin witnessed, and the peace and mutual understanding fostered during the 15 eventful years of Oba Salawudeen, noting that the ancient town and every lover of goodness will surely miss the departed monarch.

Calling on the people of Iseyin as well as the immediate and extended families of Oba Salawudeen to take solace in the good legacy he left behind, Lanlehin encouraged them to take up the baton of developing the ancient town, moving it to greater heights, in such a way and manner the departed monarch would be proud of.

Prayers for the repose of the soul of the monarch were then led in both Christian and Islamic traditions by two members of the Committee, Pastor Wale Adepoju and Alh. Akin Akande respectively, while another member, Baba E.O. Olaoye, encouraged the family. Senator Lanlehin later signed the condolence register.

Other Committee members present were the Committee’s Secretary who’s also the State Secretary of the party, Alh. Tajudeen Olanite, Alh. Bukola Badmus, Chief Sunday Ajadi Abeebo, Chief (Mrs.) Funke Olayanju, Dr (Mrs.) Adepeju Esan, Hon. Abass Akande, Pastor Akin Oke, Pa Suara Ogunyemi, Hon. Afeez Bolaji Repete, Hon. Gaphar Ojetola and Mogaji Alaba Bolarinwa.

Accompanying the Reconciliation Committee to the palace were stalwarts of the APC in Iseyin Local Government which included the party chairman, Hon. Anthony Ogunleke, Engr. Abolade Akanni, a former chairman in the council, Hon. Kayode Ojo, former vice chairman, Iseyin South LCDA, Alh. Rafiu Tajudeen Afuku, Hon. Korede Babalola, Hon. Banjo Olona, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, Alhaja Wosila Dauda, Mr. Tajudeen Balogun, Mr. Moroof Aderoju and Hon. Sikiru Raji Obe.
