As part of her continued efforts and activities to increase awareness about medical attention and assist the vulnerable who lack access to medical cares for a multiple of reasons, the Association of Rural Surgical Practitioners of Nigeria (ARSPON), has successfully carried out a 3-day free surgical outreach for residents of Iseyin Community.
During the outreach, the team of surgeons performed operations for not fewer than 56 individuals including adults and children who suffered from various ailments and also received counselling.
The 6th edition took place at Faith Foundation hospital, Iseyin between Friday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 5.
The activity featured Free Hernia, Lump Surgeries and Medical Discussions, among others.
Meanwhile, a workshop was also organized to improve Medical experts who participated in the exercise.
On her part, the National President, Dr. Mrs Oyebola Adekola, expressed satisfaction over the courage and carriage of the Association, reiterating commitments to service through humanity.
Speaking on the development, the State Coordinator, Dr. G. S Ogunsina, said the medical mission has been on track to improve the well-being of the vulnerable at the grassroots, soliciting support for its sustainability.
His words: “The major objective for the outreach is to assist individuals who lack access to healthcare services for multiple reasons because some persons have underlying ailments and are dying in silence as a result of medical bills. We urge all critical stakeholders to support this mission.”
Speaking on the development, High Chief Ismail Omotoso, the Ikolaba of Iseyin, appreciated the Association for the free outreach and urged other stakeholders to provide medical care for the less privileged who can’t afford medical bills.
Some of the beneficiaries owed a debt of gratitude to God and the Association for series of health interventions given to them.
