The death of Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola, mother of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, has continued to unite political foes.
On Wednesday, two days after the death of the matriarch, former governor Rashidi Ladoja met his brother and incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Both of them have not been having it cool since 2013.
In 2011, in the build up to the governorship election, Aregbesola visited the Bodija residence of the Ibadan High Chief, to ‘toast’ him into dropping his ambition for Ajimobi and become one of the leaders of then Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, but the old man declined.
Notwithstanding, it was learnt that Ladoja enjoys a pride of place in. Aregbesola’s heart.
Accompanied by his wife, Alhaja Mutiat, Ladoja, who is the leader of Accord in the country, was said to have met his cousin- Ajimobi, who had arrived earlier, and leaders of the All Progressives Congress- Chief Bisi Akande and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at the Osun State Government House.
On sighting each other, Ajimobi was said to have stood up to embrace his predecessor. They shared jokes and thereafter had a brief chat.
