Alhaji Adebisi Olopoenia, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, has raised an alarm of alleged planned intimidation and arrest of PDP and other leaders of the opposition political parties in the state.
During an interview with journalists in Ibadan on Monday, Olopoenia alleged that some policemen from Abuja are already in Ibadan to perfect plans ahead of Saturday’s rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections.
The PDP leader maintained that the planned arrest allegedly hatched by the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) “is targeted at frustrating the leaders of the party and as well threatened party members in order not to come out and vote on Saturday.”
He alleged further that information available to him affirmed that the team of police were camped at a popular hotel in Ibadan with the aim of swinging to action as early as today (Tuesday).
