Alayeluwa Oba Gbenga Adigun Adeoye Oyetunji Oyinlola II, the Aare of Ofiki, in Atisbo local government area of Oyo state has commended Governor Seyi Makinde over the procurement and distribution of operational vehicles for Amotekun Corps.
The monarch said the Governor’s gesture is a testament of a responsible and responsive listening government led by Governor Makinde.
He made this known in a statement personally signed by him and made available to insideoyo.com on Sunday.
The traditional ruler also urged the Amotekun Board to make good use of recommendations from individual and traditional rulers adding that they know the terrain in their localities.
The statement read: “In fact I felt so exited when I saw the news of the new Amotekun patrol vans procured and handed over to the board of Amotekun by His Excellency Engnr Seyi Makinde .
“This is a testament of a responsible and responsive listening government led by a God fearing man. Evil deeds, crime and criminality has no boundary and doesn’t recognize personality hence has to be tackled.
“As a traditional ruler who takes security of his subjects serious, this gives me more relief and joy. I urge the Amotekun board to make good use of the patrol vehicles.
“I also urge the board to absorb the recommendation of individuals recommended by the traditional rulers into the Ongoing Recruitment Process of Amotekun. We are the traditional Overlord and custodian of the ethic, values of our kingdoms. We know the terrain of our lands and the people that fits best for the job. The real hunters and individuals who are not criminals that would not compromise security of our people.”
Oba Adeoye Oyinlola II urged the board to give more priority to border communities in the deployment of officers.
He used the opportunity to remind the Governor of his promise to construct Agunrege – Owo – Ofiki – Irawo road.
He also appreciated the Board and Commandant of Amotekun for their professionalism in discharge of their duties and solicited for adequate training for me of the Amotekun Corps
“Also, the board should give more priority to border communities like Saki, Ofiki, Irawo, Komu, Ayegun border, Ijio, Itasa, Ilaji Ile, Agbonle and Igbojaiye in the deployment of officers for maximum security of our porous unguarded borders.
“I wish to remind His Excellency on the bad state of Agunrege – Owo – Ofiki – Irawo road which he has promised to construct. It’s the road interconnecting the economic towns of Atisbo Local Government. May God continue to help the government to achieve her dreams.
