The Olubadan designate, Dr. Lekan Balogun, has picked a title as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The Nation Newspaper gathered from sources that the incoming monarch has adopted the royal nomenclature of Ali Okunmade 2. His full name and title will be Oba Sen. (Dr.) Moshood Olalekan Ishola Balogun-Aliiwo (Ali Okunmade 2).
His predecessor, the late Oba Saliu Adetunji, adopted Aje Ogunguniso 1 as his royal title.
Balogun’s royal title evolved from his family compound name Aliiwo. He will be the second monarch produced by the family.
Balogun, whose name will be announced today by Governor Seyi Makinde, will be the 42nd Olubadan
The incoming monarch was a senator, business man and an academic.
Balogun’s house is wearing a new look ahead of formal announcement of his name and coronation.
When the place was visited yesterday, the house wore a new look, as it has been repainted. Well- wishers, groups and associations are still thronging the residence to felicitate him.
