Worried by the many abandoned projects in his domain, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi has told his subjects to forget the idea that government would complete them.
Insideoyo.com had reported how most of the projects embarked upon by the Governor Abiola Ajimobi are abandoned. It is unsure whether the two road projects, silo and Atiba FM station would be completed before the tenure of the incumbent runs out.
Not long ago, the monarch had written the governor to complete the abandoned road projects in the town if wants to move from excellence to distinction.
Making a remark at a lecture organised to mark his 79th birthday, the monarch said that he would look for ways of collaborating with influential indigenes of the town to get licence in a bid to set up a community radio.
Speaking in parables, Oba Adeyemi explained that it was unfortunate that the people of Oyo can suffer for supporting the incumbent administration in the state.
Hear him: “Government is broke. Most of the projects embarked upon may be abandoned. But nevertheless, we will rally round resources and establish our own community radio station. Government doesn’t have money but we have…”
This is coming after one of the Oyomesi, Samu of Oyo, had taken a swipe at the governor’s underperformance in the town.
The high chief had asked guests if they had plied any motorable road since they arrived the town, before revealing that “those who were awarded contract to construct the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital Complex Annex, Oyo but failed to do quality works are reaping the fruits…he is alive like a dead man.”
