As the campaign train of the Chairmanship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ibarapa North local government area moved to Ayete, Honourable Lateef Akorede has promised to continue to deliver dividends of democracy to the good people of Ayete and Ibarapa North LGA at large.
While speaking during the campaign, Akorede thanked the leaders, Statkeholders and Members of the party for their support under the ongoing Akorede 1.0 regime.
He made this known in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday.
Akorede also presented gifts to the widows and distributed bags of rice to party members.
The statement reads: “As my Akorede 2.0 Agenda continues, I have brought my re-election campaign rally to my hometown of Ayete, Ibarapa North, Oyo State, where it was attended by residents at their General meeting.
“The meeting was attended by prominent figures such as Hon. Funmilayo, the former People’s Democratic Party Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu, the current Ibarapa North Chief of Staff, Hon. Biliaminu Okesooto, the present Secretary to the Ibarapa North Local Government Chairman, as well as party members and Leaders.
“At the meeting, I expressed my gratitude to all the leaders and party members present for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend. I praised them for their unwavering support since the beginning of my Akorde 1.0 administration and assured them that their continued backing would be instrumental in ensuring a successful re-election campaign.
“I also took the opportunity to thank everyone for their presence at today’s general meeting and commended the residents of Ayete and Tapa for their support in selecting me as the PDP flag bearer for the upcoming chairmanship election, seeking my re-election.
“I declared to the people of Ayete that anyone who chooses not to vote for PDP in the forthcoming chairmanship election is a traitor. Your treason will not hinder our victory, it will only create opportunities for the loyal to rise. So, you can choose to betray at your own peril, but it will not deter our success.
“During the meeting, Hon. Funmilayo appealed to the groups present to vote for Hon. Lateef Akorede and councilorship candidates across Ibarapa North in the forthcoming local government election. She emphasized that PDP must win the election if the people want to get it right. She also described Hon. Lateef Akorede as a tested and trusted politician who has love for humanity, and urged the voters to re-elect him as their local government chairman.
“Com. Oyadokun Waliy also addressed the rally, commending me for the developmental strides of my Akorede 1.0 administration across various sectors in Ibarapa North. He praised the impact of my reforms and programs in education, health, security, agriculture, economy, technology, infrastructure, and sports, among others.Com. Waliy assured me that the people of Ibarapa North will cast their votes for me in the forthcoming chairmanship election.
“In conclusion, I presented gifts to the widows and distributed bags of rice to our party members. I also promised them that I would continue to deliver good governance if I am re-elected as the Ibarapa North Chairman in the forthcoming chairmanship election.”
