Residents and supporters across Oluyole Federal Constituency erupted in celebration following the emergence of Tolulope Akande-Sadipe as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the forthcoming House of Representatives election.
The atmosphere in several communities within the constituency was filled with excitement as party loyalists, youths, women groups, and community leaders took to the streets to celebrate what they described as “a victory for the people.”
Supporters were seen chanting solidarity songs, and expressing confidence in Akande-Sadipe’s continued representation, citing her empowerment programmes, constituency projects, and accessibility to the people as reasons behind the overwhelming support she enjoys across Oluyole.
Some community leaders who spoke with journalists said her victory at the primary election reflects the trust and confidence party delegates and residents have in her leadership capacity.
They noted that despite reported attempts to create tension around the exercise, party members remained united and focused on ensuring a successful and peaceful primary.
A community youth leader in the Muslim area Mr Olayode described the outcome as
“well deserved,” adding that Akande-Sadipe has maintained strong ties with grassroots members since assuming office.
Women groups in parts of Oluyole also commended her inclusiveness and support for women and vulnerable groups within the constituency.
Reacting to the celebrations, Akande-Sadipe appreciated party faithful and residents for their continuous support, assuring them of more developmental projects and quality representation.
She urged members of the APC to remain united and committed to the party’s victory in the general election.
Observers say the celebrations across the constituency further underscore her popularity among party members and residents ahead of the next election cycle.
