Opposition parties in Oyo state on Thursday advanced talks on coalition and alliance against the ruling APC in the state.
The parties, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Action Democratic Party (ADP) are working on modalities against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 9 governorship and House of Assembly elections.
In a report by The Nation, the gladiators agreed to continue with the meeting on Friday after meeting at the Bodija residence of former governor, Rashidi Ladoja.
InsideOyo.com gathered that they are working on modalities such as sharing of portfolios, withdrawal of candidates for House of Assembly candidates using local strength, popularity of party and performance at last election as yardsticks.
At the meeting were Ladoja of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Adebayo Alao-Akala, who is the governorship candidate of the ADP, ADC governorship candidate Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin and his PDP counterpart Seyi Makinde.
Others are ZLP governorship candidate Sharafadeen Alli and his counterpart from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Bolaji Ayorinde.
Recall that former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala also met with the chieftain of the APC on Wednesday and he is considering options ahead of next Saturday’s elections.
