The Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content and lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Folarin, on Wednesday, donated multimillion Naira roofing sheets towards the reconstruction of the razed Agodi Gate (Araromi) Auto Parts market.
Recall that earlier Senator Folarin, on 6th of April 2021, visited Agodi Gate Auto Parts Market not only to sympathise with the victims but also to pledge personal and FG’s supports towards rebuilding the market.
Few days after Senator Folarin’s visitation, officials of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) visited the razed market, following a request letter of support written by the three-term senator, which dated 5th April 2021.
Bundles of roofing sheets were handed over to the leadership of the market by Senator Folarin’s delegation led by former Commissioner for Environment, Barrister Lowo Obisesan.
Also part of the delegation included ex TCTC chairman, Alhaji Shina Alabi; ex-Chief Whip of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Murphy Adigun; Alhaji Yinka Folarin; Otunba Wahid Olawale, Hon. Biliaminu Ogundele, Prince Lawal Akindele, Hon. Kola Amoo, Alhaji Akeem Ila, Hon. Kunle Teslim, Mogaji Seun Jegede and among others.
The Baale of the market, Alhaji Raheem Adegoke Ewebiyi and the President of the market, Aare Moruf Ademola Ishola alias Ikire appreciated Senator Teslim Folarin for his immense contributions towards the reconstruction of the razed market.
Senator Folarin advised traders to observe fire safety measures in Oyo State markets in order to prevent future fire outbreaks.
