Adesokan Saheed, better known as SP has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) and joined joined the Social Democratic Party, SDP to contest for the Saki West State Constituency Seat at the Oyo state House of Assembly.
Adesokan, who used to be an efficient party member of the People’s Democratic Party and a strong recruiter for Governor Seyi Makinde since 2014 made this known in a statement made available to newsmen, on Thursday in Saki.
According to him, he left the party after he felt that Governor Seyi Makinde didn’t regard his loyalty and commitments of many years.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the leadership style of the Governor.
He said: “Those who are expecting Governor Makinde to change are just wasting their time. I personally wrote to him in late 2017 when the then SDP is being managed the way he’s managing the present day PDP. I still have a copy of that letter if you must see it. He sees people as tools that can be used, discarded and reused whenever he wants.
“That’s why loyalty meant nothing to him. I was patient enough to know that he doesn’t want people of value around him. Everything is not about money, it’s about being involved and being part of the process. When the government that you worked tooth and nail to install doesn’t want you to belong and be involved the next thing is to move on if you value your integrity”.
“I’m a core member of SDP now. The political peace of mind that I am enjoying now is second to none. I have also being given an opportunity to be the flag bearer of our for the position of House Of Assembly in the coming election for SAKI-WEST state constituency.”
Adesokan Saheed joined the lists of many other politicians that have left the People’s Democratic Party and Governor Seyi Makinde camp for another party.
