The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the three major trade unions at Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, has commended Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, over the recent appointment of principal officers for the institution, describing the move as timely and reassuring for the future of the polytechnic.
The commendation was contained in a letter dated January 5, 2026, jointly signed by the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP), and the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU).
In the letter, the unions expressed their profound appreciation to the governor for approving the appointment of Prof. Jonathan Adedokun as Rector, Mrs. Akintunde Abosede as Registrar, and Mrs. Adejuwon Sekinat as Bursar of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa.
According to the unions, the appointments highlights the Makinde administration’s commitment to strengthening institutional leadership, promoting stability, and enhancing academic and administrative excellence across tertiary institutions in Oyo State.
The JAC noted that the selection of “capable and qualified officers” is a significant step towards repositioning the polytechnic for improved performance, effective governance, and sustainable development.
“The Polytechnic community has received this development with renewed confidence and optimism,” the unions stated, expressing confidence that the new management team would foster industrial harmony and advance the institution’s mandate in line with the state government’s vision for education and human capital development.
The unions also praised Governor Makinde for his sustained support for Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic and the education sector at large, describing the appointments as a reflection of the administration’s commitment to long-term growth and institutional reform.
The unions concluded by wishing the governor continued success in his service to the people of Oyo State and reaffirmed their highest esteem for his leadership and commitment to the development of education in the state.
