Concerned Peoples Democratic Party, PDP youth group in Ibarapaland has congratulated the leadership of Oyo PDP and Governor Seyi Makinde over the defection of Zenith Labour Party, ZLP Chieftain, Dr Adebayo Anthony Adepoju and other members of the opposition parties to the ruling party. The group under the umbrella of PDP Youth Interest Group (Ibarapa) in press statements signed by the coordinator, Mr. Tiamiyu Kazeem and General Secretary, Aderogba Segun described Adepoju popularly known as ‘Ibarapa Kan’, as a man with strong roots across Ibarapa communities.
According to the Statement, Adepoju defection back to PDP a long awaiting move and home coming which will make the party stronger in Ibarapa Central and North local government.

The Statement, “We want to congratulate ourselves as PDP youths, our amiable Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde and our party leaders for having Ibarapa Kan back in PDP because is what will work, prayed and expected.
“Dr Adepoju is a strong community and party man, widely loved by is his people because he’s never away from us and grant free access and listening ears anytime the people, the community or party calls.
“Ibarapa PDP especially the youths are tired of seasonal politicians that only secured tickets with influence at the national level and come home to harvest vote every four four years. We’ve seen the attempt of their myopic soldiers trying to berate yesterday’s defection event where our able Governor was represented by the Oyo Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin and the two commissioners from Ibarapaland.
“We are calling on our Governor, our Speaker, Dr. Adepoju and the entire PDP in Ibarapaland to ignore noisemakers and focus on continuing developing the State, so we can keep attracting people to the PDP family.
“No one can be more PDP than another, Dr Adepoju is presently the Chairman Oyo State Water Corporation, his father was the first member of the PDP national exco from this region and even Oyo State. We won’t say more than that for now.”
The defection ceremony was attended by Oyo State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, Oyo South Senatorial Chairman of the PDP , Elder Samuel Olawuwo, the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon Funmilayo Orisadeyi, Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Seun Fakorede, member representing Ibarapa North/Central State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Peter Ojedokun among others.
