Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, has declared that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Adebayo Adelabu, was the candidate that was most accomplished and will not embezzle public funds if elected.
Ajimobi stated this on Monday during at a campaign for Adelabu and other APC candidates at Bodija and Yemetu areas of Ibadan.
He said Adelabu possessed the fear of God, was well-educated and from the Adegoke Adelabu family known to have been committed to the development of Ibadan.
“We met Oyo state in a dilapidated form; we have done well and laid the foundation for development which Adelabu will consolidate. No one else will come to take us off the current path of development we have laid.
“Adelabu is from a great family. His grandfather worked for Ibadan. No other candidate can boast of better education, family bringing, and accomplishment than Adelabu. He is not hungry; he fears God; he is accomplished and is not going there to embezzle public funds,” Ajimobi said.
The campaign at the two venues had in attendance wife of Oyo State governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi; state deputy governor, Mr Moses Adeyemo; Chairman, Oyo APC, Chief Akin Oke; leaders, candidates, stalwarts and supporters of the APC across various levels.
In his remarks, Adelabu vowed to consolidate upon strides of the current Ajimobi government as well as live up to the expectations of residents of the state.
He said the state was in for digital, modern and vibrant governance, if he is elected.
