The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State held an enlarged stakeholders meeting on Friday at the party secretariat in Oke-Ado, bringing together senior figures across the state to reaffirm unity and declare full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential flag bearer in the 2027 election.
The meeting was convened under the coordination of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led in the state by Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, who has been appointed by President Tinubu to oversee mobilisation for the Renewed Hope agenda in Oyo.
In his remarks, Senator Folarin set out a broad mobilisation plan aimed at strengthening the party’s structures and deepening grassroots engagement.
He noted that preparations for 2027 must begin with the rebuilding of the party’s base across all 33 Local Government Areas, 351 Wards, and every polling unit in the state.
Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State for the 2023 gubernatorial election,urged stakeholders to target at least a 35 percent improvement on the votes delivered for President Tinubu in 2023, stressing that unity remains the foundation of any successful political effort.
Oloye Teslim Folarin called on party leaders to embrace the “One APC, One Tinubu Project” as the central message for mobilisation across the state.
He added that Oyo would strive to set a new standard for organisation, discipline, and teamwork.
The Oyo State APC chairman, Pharmacist Olayide-Abas, in his welcome address, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and described the atmosphere of peace within the party as encouraging.
He commended Senator Folarin and the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, noting that the meeting represented a strong signal of reconciliation across the party.
Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Committee in Oyo State, urged members to register fully under the Renewed Hope platform. He explained that the president had placed responsibility on Senator Folarin to drive a unified mobilisation effort in the state.
Senator Hamzat Ayoade Adeseun charged party leaders to work toward delivering not less than 80 percent of the total votes in the state for President Tinubu in 2027.
Former Lawmaker emphasised that the next election would require stronger organisation and a more coordinated mobilisation strategy.
A motion of support for President Tinubu was moved by Senator Fatai Buhari and seconded by lawmaker.
In his remark, the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, dismissed claims of any rift between himself and Senator Folarin. He congratulated Mrs. Florence Ajimobi on her appointment as ambassador-designate and stressed the need for reconciliation efforts to reach the ward level.
Oloye Adelabu reminded party stakeholders that the welfare of members must remain a priority while welcoming returnees into the fold.
Those present at the meeting included several senior figures of the party. The former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Moses Alake Adeyemo, Senator Hosea Agboola, who recently joined the APC,
Senator Yinus Akintunde member representing Oyo Central Senatorial District and Senator Fatai Buhari of Oyo North Senatorial District.
Members of the House of Representatives at the member included Hon. Akin Alabi, representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Remi Oseni of the Ibarapa East/ Ido Federal Constituency, and Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, Member Representing Oluyole Federal Constituency, Former federal lawmaker Hon. Saheed Fijabi was also in attendance, along with other former legislators.
The former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Joshua Olagunju Ojo, was present, as well as former Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, and veteran party leader Baba Akin Oke. Several other key stakeholders of the party also participated in the meeting.
