The Accord Candidate for Ibadan North West, South West Constituency, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku has distributed 50 pieces of 400 watts solar powered lamps to the Odo Ona, Apata Community in Ibadan in order to help curb insecurity within the communities.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by his media office on Monday.
The statesmen read in part: “Ajanaku’s determination to improve the living standard of the people of Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal constituency of Oyo state especially in the area of security, remains paramount in the mind of Ajanaku.
“Ajanaku reiterated this through his light up project which had distributed solar powered streetlight to various communities within his constituency.”
In his remark while presenting another set fifty(50) pieces of the 400watts solar poweredlamps to the chairman of Odo Ona/Apata community development association Alhaji Fatai Oladokun, Ajanaku promised to use the light up project to open up all dark spots that may be posing security threat to his people at night.
He said when communities are properly illuminated at night, it will not only scare away criminal elements as there won’t be hiding place for them, it will also boost commercial activities and improve commerce as petty traders within the communities will be encouraged to trade for a longer time at night.
In his reaction, the Community Development Association chairman, Alhaji Oladokun appreciated Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku for his humanitarian and community service.
According to him, his commitment to the development of the communities in his federal constituency has surpassed that of many before him across different levels of human endeavors despite not holding any elective post.
He said: “We appreciate your regular interventions to the yearnings of our people, you have never let us down and we promised to replicate this with our votes.”
