A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Oyo State, Dr Kazeem Adesina Abidikugu has congratulated the Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja on his birthday on Sunday and his recent appointment as the Chairman of People’s Democratic Institute, (PDI), Board of Governors.
PDI is the research arm of PDP established in 2000 to promote a new democratic culture in Nigeria and Africa through the provision of value-added education, training, capacity building, research, and documentation programmes.
It could be recalled that last week in Abuja Arapaja was inaugurated as the Chairman of PDI Board of Governors.
After the innauguration, Arapaja pledged the governing board members’ commitment to the mission, and vision of PDI, and to the guiding principles of the PDP.
Abidikugu in a statement commended the PDP National leadership for its foresight in repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In particular, Abidikugu who is a PDP House of Representatives aspirant in the build up to 2023 elections, said the appointment of Ambassador Arapaja as the Chairman of PDI Board of Governors is well deserved because of his lofty antecedents.
He equally congratulated the PDP National Leader on his birthday wishing him many more happy years ahead in good health.
He appreciates Arapaja’s unparalleled political acumen, profound tolerance and steadfast leadership qualities that have truly left an indelible mark on the political landscape in Oyo state and in Nigeria in general.
Abidikugu who is a United Kingdom based Psychiatric Consultant further said in the statement that, “Your appointment is well deserved in view of your unwavering commitment to Democratic values, coupled with his ability to Foster unity and strategic thinking, which makes him uniquely suited for this role.
“Your proven track record in governance and your deep understanding of political dynamics will drive the institute’s mission to strengthen Democratic values within our great party.
“I have no doubt that your vision and dedication to advancing our political system will ensure that he provides the much needed integrity and effectiveness in our party
“Your calmness even in the face of provocation, his political maturity and his great love for our party, the PDP made him suitable for the new position.
“You are a round peg in a round hole and I believe you have good antecedents to steer the ship of the PDI. I have high hope that you will succeed in your new position.
“I also Congratulate Governor Seyi Makinde for his foresight and love for our party. I believe this efforts will definitely pay off in 2027 as we shall take over the rein of power and redeemed our dear country”.
