In a bid to make the festive season memorable for residents of Ogbomoso and its environs, popular artistes from the soil, Ramon Akanni (a.k.a RK1), 9ice and Que Peller, have been billed to lead other musicians to thrill people at the Ajilete carnival 2017.
According to Nigerian Tribune, the event, which is the first of its kind, will host top government functionaries, industrialists and royal fathers from the town.
It is billed for December 28 till dawn at the Ogbomoso stadium.
According to chairman of the event, Mr Wole Akinwale, it is targeted at bringing the indigenes and visitors of Ogbomoso together and also boost the tourism and economy of the town.
“We are optimistic to have a successful event, as top government functionaries and royal fathers are expected to grace the event. It will be fun and full of surprises,” he said.
Speaking, RK1 said that the initiative is a welcome development as it will serve as an opportunity for the indigenes of the town to celebrate together and unite.
“I am pleased to be part of this, because this is one of the major means we can foster with entity and develop our heritage. I am optimistic on the event,” he stated.
