A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Chairman of Oluyole Local Government in Oyo State, Hon. Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, has stated that many members of the Unity Forum, were already returning to the party without making noise about it.
Abass-Aleshinloye stated this in a chat with The Nation Newspaper recently.
He said the reconciliation efforts initiated by the party at all levels in the state have also created an open door for many others that have been returning.
He told The Nation that: “There are some people, very few of them, who actually caused this crisis because of their inordinate ambition. They don’t want things to be brought under control but I am telling you about 70 per cent of the people are already coming in. Nobody will go to any party, which party will they go to? Which party in Oyo State will they go to? They are coming in because they have not gone anywhere. They are in for reconciliation. There is nowhere in the whole world where you run this kind of presidential system of government where the president or governor will not be recognized as the leader.”
The council chairman said a big, governing party like the APC can not run away from such crises because most politicians are driven by interests. He emphasized that all interests can not be addressed every time.
