Senator Fatai Buhari, senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District has promised to construct and equip an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) center at Ansar-ud-deen Society High School, Ago Are.
Buhari said this, on Saturday, during the 40th anniversary of the school in ATISBO Local government area of Oyo state.
He said Ago Are town is the first town to benefit from the ICT centers he facilitated to his senatorial district.
The senator who said he has facilitated two hospitals to the local government area promised that the fencing and equipping of one of the hospitals under construction will start before the end of the month.
His words: “I’m using this opportunity to tell you Old students. I believe strongly in education. From the list of requests you made, I will do one. By God’s grace, in the next one week, they will come and start the construction of an ICT Center in this school.
“I want to urge the old students association to please take care of the facility after its completion for judicious use. The ICT Center will have computers, generating set and other necessary equipments. Our children must not have any excuse for failure again because of nonavailability of computer.”
In a related development, the Alumni Association of the institution has electrified school for the first time since its establishment.
The project which was commissioned by Senator Fatai Buhari was one of the the three projects for the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the school.
The electricity project was singlehandedly financed by Alhaji Isiaka Tiamiyu, the Senior prefect of 1991 set.
Other projects include an administrative block which is ongoing fully funded by two old students – Alhaji Mutawakil Olaide Ahmed and Alhaji Waheed Adebayo (ADWAS) and laboratory, library building funded by the entire old students members.
Dignitaries present included Sen Fatai Buhari; senator representing Oyo North, Hon Riliwanu Gbadamosi (Wale Canada) lawmaker representing Saki East, ATISBO constituency, Alh. Fasasi Adeagbo (AMIFAS); Chairman ATISBO Local Government.
Traditional rulers were Oba Dr. Abodurin Kofoworo, Aare of AgoAre, Oba Uthman Oyetunde Azeez, Alageere of AgoAre
Oba Alhaji Azeez Omofoyewa, the Baale Ito of AgoAre.
