Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Sunday, broke three-season jinx by wining their opening home game, beating Go Round FC of Omoku 3-0.
The NNL match day one fixture played at the Lekan Salami Stadium, was watched by an appreciable number of crowd.
3SC’s opening home matches for the past three season, have ended in stalemates but the victory over Go Round, courtesy of Fatai Gbadamo’s first half goal and Opeoluwa Olufemi’s second half double, ensured the trend was not allowed to continue.
With goalkeeper Detan Ogundare in goal, well covered by skipper Omololu Waheed,Abbey Benson and Nurudeen Amodu, Taye Muritala, the Oluyole Warriors’ goal area was well secured.
The trio of Gbadamosi Fatai, Quadry Raheem and Abayomi Junior took control of the midfield while Najeem Olukokun, Gafar Olafimihan and Opeoluwa Olufemi, took charge upfront.
Gbadamosi, who incidentally, scored 3SC’s first goal last season, when the team waa held 1-1 by Abia Comets, repeated that feat when his16th minute shot, sailed into the net.

The visitors refused to go down without a fight ,as they put their acts together and turned the game into a ding dong affair with the homers however, having the upperhand.
The first half produced no further goal.
The second half saw a more attacking minded 3SC, forcing their foes to sit at the back for most part of the second 45 minutes.
In the 67th minute, energetic striker, Gafai Olafimihan, found his way through Go Round defence before his low drive was well connected home by Opeoluwa Olufemi to make it 2-0.
Not done yet, the coach Edith Agoye tutored lads piled more pressure on the visitors in search of another goal which they got ten minutes later.
Opeoluwa Olufemi, the team’ s top scorer last season, got his second of the day and the Oluyole Warriors final goal, arriving on time to score the third goal, off a pull out from the right.
It was a big relief for the supporters and fans of the Oluyole Warriors, who have been praying that the opening matches winless streak should stop.
