An event planner, Adeleke Adedokun, has appeared at an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State for alleged N1.3 million fraud.
Adedokun, 32, of 4, Alaro Street, Sango, Ibadan, is facing a two-count charge of obtaining by false pretences and stealing.
The prosecutor, Femi Omilana, told the court that the suspect obtained N1.3million from Folashade Dixen on the pretext of supplying drinks at her sister’s wedding.
He said: “Adedokun failed to supply the drinks and converted the money to his use.”
The prosecutor alleged that the accused stole the money.
He added that the suspect committed the offence in September.
Omilana said the offence contravened sections 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 38, Vol.11, Law of Oyo State of Nigeria, 2000.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs. A.O Akande, granted the accused bail at N200,000 with two sureties.
She adjourned the case till November 28 for hearing.
