Following the completion of course work and training, 216 students of AfriWomen have graduated from the Oyo State Agency for Adult and Non formal Education Literacy class and Skills Acquisition Center in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The AfriWomen is a grassroot and networking NGO set up to alleviate poverty through the economic and social development of women and the girl child.
The graduation ceremony which was in commemoration of the 2021 International Literacy Day has people who have completed their programs graduated and awarded from all centers across the state.
While speaking at the graduation ceremony, the founder of AfriWomen, Mrs Adebukola Oso congratulated the graduands for finding time despite the tight schedule to complete the program.
Oso commended ANFEE and other stakeholders for their roles towards the success of the program.
She urged the graduands to make judicious use of the skills and knowledge acquired adding that starting late for them is not a barrier.
Present at the event were Commissioner for Education represented Mr Adeyemo; Head of Service represented by Mr Adelowo; PDP party chairman, Ibadan North East LG, Baba Isiaka Fatokun and others.
