Amofin Beulah Adeoye, has explained his recent visit to former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, saying the consultation was aimed at strengthening unity within the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adeoye, who is also founder of the Amofin Beulah Adeoye Foundation, made this known shortly after a closed-door meeting with the PDP leader in Ibadan. He described the engagement as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the party for victory and sustain governance gains in the state.
Speaking in a statement made available to newsmen after the meeting, the legal icon said consultation with elder statesmen and party stakeholders remains necessary to ensure fairness and people-centred leadership.
“Consultation with elder statesmen and party stakeholders is necessary to ensure that decisions are guided by experience, fairness and the overall interest of the people,” Adeoye said.
He stressed that his aspiration to govern Oyo State is driven by a “sincere desire to serve and uplift the lives of citizens” through impactful policies in education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment and economic development.
During the meeting held in a cordial atmosphere, Adeoye reiterated the need for unity among PDP stakeholders across board. He noted that inclusive leadership, grassroots development and the progress of the party are critical strategies for the PDP to remain relevant beyond 2027.
The parley provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss the current state of the party, challenges facing the people, and practical strategies needed to secure PDP victory in the next general elections.
This online newspaper recalls that Amofin Adeoye has held several strategic and consultative meetings with PDP leaders, stakeholders and traditional rulers across the nooks and crannies of Oyo State in pursuit of his gubernatorial ambition.
The gubernatorial hopeful maintained that the time has come for a visionary leader to continue the legacy built by Governor Seyi Makinde under Omi Tuntun 1.0 and 2.0.
“The time has come for a visionary leader to continue the legacy built by Engr Seyi Makinde under Omi Tuntun 1.0 and 2.0,” he said.
According to him, the consultation meeting further highlighted his readiness to lead with purpose and sincerity. He added that the growing support for his aspiration across different segments of the party and wider society was evident.
