The Forum of Vice Chairmen of Local Government Areas in Oyo State has declared its total support for Governor Seyi Makinde to contest the Presidency of Nigeria in the 2027 general election, citing his leadership qualities, performance, and people-oriented governance.
In a statement on Monday, the Forum described Makinde as “a transformational leader whose governance style has restored dignity, accountability, and inclusion in Oyo State.”
“Governor Seyi Makinde has proven that integrity, competence, and compassion can coexist in leadership,” the statement read.
“Under his administration, Oyo State has witnessed remarkable progress in education, infrastructure, health, and local government empowerment. We believe he possesses the vision and temperament needed to lead Nigeria at this crucial time.”
The forum further highlighted the governor’s impact on rural and grassroots development in the state where agricultural investments, infrastructure projects, and youth empowerment initiatives have expanded opportunities for local residents.
“Governor Makinde has shown practical commitment to the development of all regions,” the statement added.
“His policies have strengthened local government administration, improved rural connectivity, and created jobs for our youths. These achievements reflect the kind of leadership Nigeria urgently needs.”
Inside Oyo undertands that although Governor Makinde has not formally announced any presidential ambition, the forum’s declaration adds to the growing wave of endorsements from political groups, organizations, across the state and beyond.
