Former Governor of Oyo state and Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in the state Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala has aasked elders and the people of Oke-Ogun area of Oyo state to throw their weight behind his Governorship aspiration.

The former governor over the weeks announced hid bid to contest under the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo.

Otunba Alao-Akala who was Governor of Oyo state between 2007 – 2011 gave this advice while meeting with indigenes of Oke-Ogun drawn from the 11 Local Government Areas that constitute Oke-Ogun area of Oyo state during his sensitization visit to Oke-Ogun area of the state.

Otunba Alao-Akala stated that supporting him in the forthcoming polls is the way to go as he represents the true face of Politics and politicking in the entire Oke Ogun area of Oyo state.

According to him, for the current agitation that Oke-Ogun must produce the next Governor of Oyo state to come to fruition, we must be careful with our choice. We must present a candidate that has all it takes to win an election and we cannot afford to go to the polls with a divided house, it will be disastrous to the much desired uplifment of our region we have been clamouring for. I still have another constitutional single term of 4 years which is an opportunity we must all maximize to bring further development to Oke-Ogun. If we fail to utilise this opportunity of 4years staring us in the face, we will have to wait for another eight years which will not augur well for us.

The other zones are not resting on their oars to snatch this opportunity from us and we must not allow them disenfranchise us. Much as we need support from all zones of the state, we must not forget a wise saying that says “charity begins at home”; we should take our destiny in our own hands. Your support for my aspiration to govern Oyo state is support for the development of Oke-Ogun he declared.
