‎Aare Ona Kakanfo: Oluwo Happy With Adams’ Appointment

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, called on Adams to wage a war against negative aspects of Yoruba culture and poverty.

He said, “The appointment of Gani Adams is a right decision especially at a time when our revered and rich tradition is being threatened. The appointment is coming at a period when people are being killed in the name of culture.

“His primary duty is to defend the Yoruba race and culture. I will want him to use his new position to curtail incessant killings of students for rituals by alfas, pastors, and others. He should curb kidnapping and stop the use of human parts for sacrifices.”

Akanbi added that he was optimistic that Adams would liberate the Yoruba from “poverty of the mind.”
