Following all kinds of rumour and unauthentic information circulating on social media regarding 2017/18 admission process to University of Ibadan, (UI) , the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka has advised candidates seeking admission into the school to beware of fraudsters, saying the process has not started.
Olayinka who expressed concern over the counterfeit information intended to mislead and defraud candidates hinted that “when the process begins, genuine information will be placed on the University’s website for the consumption of the candidates and necessary steps to take.”
According to the VC, “Very soon, a meeting of the Senate would be convened to make a decision on this matter, thereafter, a formal announcement would be made on the modalities to be adopted in screening those candidates who must have chosen the University of Ibadan for admission”.
He urged parents to advise their wards against playing into the fraudulent traps orchestrated by some criminal elements who see every admission year as an opportunity to defraud unsuspecting and desperate candidates.
He further warned candidates against giving anybody money or paying money into anyone’s account, saying admission to UI is purely on merit.
