The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, has extended the submission of candidates’ names to March 23, 2018.

However, the May 12, 2018 election date remains unchanged.
The decision according to a public notice signed by OYSIEC chairman Mr Jide Adeigbe was due to the complaints, pressures and agitations from various stakeholders including the political parties, on the clarity of ward delineation boundaries.

“This will enable parties to understand and know the boundaries/delineation of the wards in the newly created LCDAs,” he said.
He however maintamain that the Local Government Elections slated for May, 12th 2018 remained unchanged as (OYSIEC) will not grant any further extension.
