The African Democratic Congress in Oyo State has urged the people to go out en masse to get their Permanent Voter Cards, saying it was the only way they could rid the state of the alleged misgovernance of the incumbent administration.
This is coming barely three days to the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission for voter registration.
The ADC said the lamentation of the people about bad governance in Oyo State would be useless if they failed to get their PVC before the August 17 deadline.
The ADC said Oyo people were already disenchanted with the current administration on account of “non-payment of salaries, dirty cities, government-induced frictions among traditional rulers and chiefs, bad roads, inadequate health care service and other inadequacies.”
The party, in a statement on Monday, urged the people to get their PVCs and be ready to give their mandate to the ADC in 2019.
It said, “The complaints against the incumbent government on all fronts will remain mere lamentation unless we exercise our rights to vote in a new government next year.
“The quest for a good government in Oyo State is widespread and the loud clamour is loud in every street corner. However, it is time for us to take action and go beyond mere complaints.
“Let us troop out in the remaining days of the voter registration so that we are qualified to be part of the historic process of changing the incumbent government to a better one next year.”
