The Honourable representing Oyo Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Prince Adeyemi Akeem Skimeh, is collaborating with the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, on Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme, B- NOAS, as part of his untiring efforts to make youths in his constituency economically viable and independent.
According to the lawmaker, the scheme is one of the federal government programmes; aimed at making Nigerian youths self-reliant.
Thirty nine (39) trainees were carefully selected across the four local governments of the constituency; Atiba, Afijio, Oyo East and Oyo West.
This scheme affords youths from Oyo Federal Constituency opportunities to learn basic vocations in cosmetology, fashion designing and computer training. Three government-accredited centres have been chosen for this programme.
They are:
(1) Deward Unisex Designer, Sanga, Oyo, for fashion designing.
(2) Adelere Computer Center and Prints, Opposite Old Prison Yard, Lagbodoko, Oyo, for computer training.
(3) Ogo-Oyo Constituency Office, Oyo, for cosmetology.
After training, each participant will be empowered with cash and materials as startups.
This programme starts in January and ends in April (2 weeks – 3 months training). Trainees are; hereby, advised to give the training all the serious it deserves, as this may be a lifetime opportunity.
