The management of Agricultural and Financial Inclusion for Daily Earners (AFIDE), has revealed why there’s delay in payment to their Co-operators.
The management in a press statement made available to newsmen on Friday said the delay in payment is due to the recent cash run, where in about 5250 members wish to receive their monies all at once without prior warnings.
The urged everyone to be calm adding that they will get their money as soon as possible.
The statement read: “The management of Agricultural and Financial Inclusion for Daily Earners (AFIDE), once again hereby reiterates its commitment to our numerous Co-operators to repay their contributions to them. We use this medium to affirm that truly people trusted us and contributed their hard-earned money with us. We also affirm that people have every right to demand for their money and protest the delay. However, we must be plain here to let our Co-operators know that the delay in payment is due to the recent cash run, where in about 5250 members wish to receive their monies all at once without prior warnings. This over stretched our cash flow and personnel. That led to low morale, health breakdown and many other challenges.
“Notwithstanding the pressure and the challenge, we have already started paying our Co-operators across the states we operate in. Our company is registered with relevant government agencies and we do not have any plan or intention of absconding with our co-operator hard earned money. We had to stop receiving monies because we wanted to sort out all the pressures on ground and assure the members that we are genuine and reliable.
“Additionally, as co-operator began to beat, humiliate, attack and arrest our members and also attack the office to the extent of even looting the office, we had to lay low on our operations till every co-operator is fully settled. Which we will achieve in a very short while.
“We also want to appeal once again to some of our Co-operators who come to our offices to attack our property and staff members to kindly exercise patience as we shall not rest on our oars until every person gets paid to their last kobo. We apologize for the delay which is due to the volume of transaction we have to deal with.
“We are a responsible organization and that is why we are doing everything to bring the situation under control. This press release is to keep our numerous clients abreast of the actions we are taking to make sure that they get back their money as soon as possible. We are not fraudulent and we are not running away with people’s money. We have operated for over 4 years in Oyo State, without hitch or difficulty.
“We are also aware that police arrested some people for attacking our property and beating our officials, we have secured their bail unconditionally as we are not interested in pressing charges against anyone. Our priority is to get all our clients paid soon. Once again, we hereby recognize that we are owing some of our clients, however it is important to reiterate here that we have already started paying. Also, as against some unfounded rumours by some unscrupulous elements, we want to tell the general public that we are not running away with people’s money and we appeal for patience and support through this phase.
“We shall continue to keep the public informed of the progress in payment of our co-operators as transparency remains an integral part of our company’s policies. We thank you all for your support, patience and understanding. AFIDE will continue to hold you all in high esteem as the lifeline of our business. Thank you all once again.”
