In response to one Saheed Olunlade’s statement on behalf of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP in Ido Local government area regarding his defection, Hon Opeyemi Semiu Folarin asserted his reasons for joining the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing the developmental strides of Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon Sheriff Adeojo in Oyo state and Ido local government area respectively.
Folarin, also known as Olorun Ero, emphasized the ongoing infrastructural and developmental projects under the PDP’s leadership and expressed confidence that more individuals would join the party to contribute to the state’s progress.
He said: “I don’t want to join issues with NNPC because the party is a dead one in Oyo state and it’s very clear to the people of Oyo state.
“I can count numerous notable people who left NNPP and joined PDP
“Notable figures like Dr. Ibrahim Ajiboye, popularly known as Omo Iya Eleja, Hon Shina Salam, Oyo state women Leader, Oyo South and North senatorial chairmen, and even the state Chairman of NNPP have all left the party immediately after the 2023 general elections,” Folarin added.
Folarin pledged his commitment to ensuring the victory of PDP’s chairmanship candidate, Hon Sheriff Adeojo, and other councilorship candidates in Ido local government area through vigorous campaigning and collaboration with the party’s executives.
He urged the electorate to disregard NNPP’s rhetoric and encouraged them to turn out in large numbers to vote for PDP candidates on Saturday, April 27, ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the future of Ido local government.
“My focus is to ensure victory of the PDP chairmanship candidate in Ido local government Hon Sheriff Adeojo and other 10 councilorship candidates in the local government Election through support and campaigns from ward to ward,” Folarin said.
