University of Ibadan doctoral student, Mr. ‘Wale Adeboye has received 2019 Rotary Peace Fellowship for a 3-month study at the Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
Adeboye of the Institute for Peace & Strategic Studies (IPSS), joins twenty-three other successful applicants from all over the world in a competitively selected placement for the 2019-winter edition of the fellowship, which is expected to hold from 13 January 2019 – 8 April 2019.
The fellows were chosen after demonstrating interest for issues of global peace, conflict and development and showing how their participation would help create a more peaceful and loving world.
The 12-week intensive professional development program includes four specialized modules and two field trips (domestic field study of Thailand related conflicts and international field study outside of Thailand) to examine the roles of various actors in the process of post conflict transformation and reconstruction in South-East Asia.
The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for professionals with work experience in international relations or peace and conflict prevention and resolution.
Prior to this fellowship, Adeboye was also in 2016 and 2017 selected as a Global Peace Index Ambassador for the Rotary International and the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), New York, to champion positive peace across the globe.
