The management of the University Of Ibadan (UI) has issued further directives to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on campus.
In a special release over the weekend, the management said it is part of its effort in preventing the spread of COVID-19 on the University of Ibadan campus.
The new measures are effective from Monday, 18 May 2020:
The details below:
1. The only access to the University for now is the main gate. All other gates including the pedestrian
gates are closed.
2. All persons entering the University are compulsorily required to wear face masks.
3. The number of persons in a car including the driver must not exceed four (4). Tricycle (KEKE NAPEP)
should carry three persons only including the driver. Commercial buses on campus must not carry more
than two persons in a row. Personal motorcycle should not carry more than one person.
4. All team sports ( football, basketball etc) are still prohibited within the campus until there is a decline
in the growing cases of COVID-19.
5. Fellowships, meetings and all forms of gatherings that attract crowd are prohibited in line with
Federal Government’s directive/advice.
6. All categories of staff authorised to be at their offices must maintain safety and personal hygiene as
advised by NCDC.
7. No student is permitted on campus except those fully resident in the University staff quarters.
8. No business outfit on campus should operate beyond 7.00pm
9. Members of the University community are enjoined to cooperate with the Campus Security Service in
crime control and maintenance of law and order. This is to prevent miscreants from taking advantage of
the present situation to perpetrate criminal activities on campus
