The FAME Foundation is sustaining its innovative FAME Lead Project in Nigeria. The project will be rolled out into more secondary schools across Ibadan in the second quarter of 2025 and will reach over 2000 Prefects.
FAME Lead Project was launched by The FAME Foundation, a leading volunteer-driven, youth development, non-profit leadership and skills development education organization. It is dedicated to empowering students in leadership, work readiness, entrepreneurship, and mentoring through secondary education. It has reached thousands of youths in secondary schools through its transformational projects.
In nearly a decade, the FAME Lead Project has impacted 3,169 aspiring leaders directly and 38,000 aspiring leaders indirectly. In nearly 100 Secondary Schools, we trained and equipped them with leadership skills, allowing them to become better leaders, take on greater leadership opportunities, and influence thousands of leaders positively in their communities.
With more collaborations and partnerships, the FAME Lead Project will be expanded to reach thousands of prefects in 2025.
Commenting, Raphael Stephen, Executive Director of The FAME Foundation, said: “This is the 7th Edition and we have seen so many success stories and Changemakers like Covenant Odedele emerge from this project. We believe that secondary school offers the most cost-effective way for youth to learn leadership values and practice the skills they will need to thrive after school.
“The Ibadan Secondary School Prefects Training is a leadership and management training for newly selected prefects in public secondary schools, designed to empower them to effectively execute the leadership duties in their schools. With nearly a decade of experience training prefects in Nigerian public secondary schools, we’ve tested, refined, and continually strengthened this training programme to ensure the maximum impact for prefects.”
The FAME Foundation was founded in 2017 by Raphael Stephen and has reached over 40,000 youths through its various programmes in under-resourced schools and hard-to-reach communities.
FAME believes that through deliberate investments in students in secondary schools, we can improve the public secondary education system and contribute to the end of our leadership crisis in our lifetime.
The FAME Foundation has built a record of accomplishment over half a decade by delivering high-quality leadership programmes to secondary school students across Nigeria and recently hit a major milestone of over 40,000 students reached at the end of 2024.
The FAME Foundation works with Communities, Schools, the Private Sector, and Governments to build strong, innovative education systems that enhance learning for young people.
Our highly ambitious team is eager to partner with corporate organizations and individuals focused on making an impact, equipping students in secondary schools, and unleashing the potential of the next generation to build on the huge potential of the FAME Lead Project.
