The FAME Foundation is proud to announce the Ibadan Head Girl Conference 2026, a premier mentorship and leadership platform designed to empower aspiring female leaders in secondary schools.
This initiative provides a rare opportunity for teenage head girls to learn directly from accomplished women leaders and gain the skills, confidence, and inspiration needed to thrive both in school and beyond life.
Recognizing the transformative power of female role models, the FAME Foundation emphasizes the importance of mentorship in shaping the leaders of today and tomorrow. Research shows that positive female role models significantly influence girls’ confidence, academic choices, and career paths, particularly in sectors where women remain underrepresented.
The third edition of the conference, themed “Let Girls Thrive; Be Her Champion,” will host 400 Head Girls from 400 Schools from the 11 LGAs in Ibadan. It will take place on March 5th, 2026, in Ibadan, Nigeria, and will feature a series of inspiring talks, masterclasses, breakout sessions, and competition led by the girls, world-class facilitators and Ibadan’s most influential women leaders. This hands-on experience will allow head girls to connect with mentors, exchange ideas, network and develop actionable leadership skills.
Raphael Stephen, Executive Director of The FAME Foundation, said: “For nearly a decade, we have witnessed the transformative impact mentorship has on young girls. Ibadan Head Girl Conference is not just about leadership, it is about empowering young women to become changemakers in their schools and communities. We call on government, corporate partners, philanthropists, and society at large to champion this cause and invest in the potential of our girls.”
Since its inception, the FAME Lead Project has directly impacted over 5,000 aspiring leaders and indirectly influenced nearly 50,000 students across more than 100 secondary schools, equipping them with leadership skills that enable them to take on significant roles and positively influence their communities.
Through deliberate investment in secondary school students, the FAME Foundation aims to strengthen public education, cultivate the next generation of leaders, and address Nigeria’s leadership gap.
The Ibadan Head Girl Conference 2026 represents an exceptional opportunity for government, corporate organizations, and development partners to demonstrate leadership in promoting gender equity, student and youth empowerment, and human capital development. By partnering with the FAME Foundation, stakeholders can make a tangible impact on the lives of young girls while reinforcing their commitment to diversity, inclusion, and sustainable development.
