Tension mounts among party chieftains and loyalists as Governor Abiola Ajimobi meet over 30 governorship aspirants under the All Progressives Congress, APC in Oyo state.
The meeting, Ajimobi, had said will allow the part to have a four consensus candidates that will later battle for the ruling APC ticket.
At a meeting in Oyo Central Senatorial District,the governor told members and aspirants to put interest of the party above their personal interests.
Sources told Insideoyo.com that the likely candidates will be among Joseph Tegbe, Olalekan Alli, Bayo Adelabu and Ajiboye Omodewu.
But in a poll conducted by insideoyo.com on Thursday, former governor Alao Akala won while Joseph Tegbe took the second position among the preferred candidates.
Why Ajimobi is looking for consensus candidates
The governor at the All Progressives Congress, APC Oyo Central senatorial district stakeholders meeting expressed that the leadership of the party would not allow every gubernatorial aspirant to cough out the humongous sum of N22.8m for the form when only one amongst over 30 will emerge as candidate.
Although, he had maintained that the process in which the eventual winner would emerge will be through democratic process and give an enabling avenue for every one to operate.
