Tension mounts as former Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr. Akin Onigbinde has also emerged as gubernatorial candidate of the Oyo state chapter of the Alliance For Democracy (AD) as party broke into faction on Saturday.
The development paved way for factional gubernatorial primary elections held at separate locations in Ibadan, the state capital.

Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao had emerged at the primary election conducted by caretaker committee of the party led by Pastor Akin Alamum, which was held in an hotel on Old Ife Road while Onigbinde emerged during the primary election held along Iwo Road-Ojoo Express Way, which was organised Mr. Michael Akinropo-led state executive of the party.
Just as Alao emerged unopposed, Onigbinde emerged through the nomination and affirmation by the delegates unopposed alongside three senatorial candidates, 12 house of representatives candidates and 32 house of assembly flag bearers.
