The Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the last general elections in Oyo state, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, has commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde over the demise of Mama Abigail Makinde.
Lanlehin in a statement made available to newsmen on Friday said he received the news with sadness.
Mama Abigail Makinde died at the age 81 on Thursday.
Lanlehin said : “I received with sadness, the news yesterday, of the unfortunate demise of the governor’s mother, Mama Abigail Makinde, aged 81.
“Though Mama exited at a fairly old age, yet, as humans, there is still the longing to spend many more years in the company of our loved ones, especially our mothers. Considering the inexplicable bond between the mother and the child, one is not surprised at the expression of grief and the outpouring of emotions, from the Governor, family, friends, and well-wishers. It is on this note, that I empathise sincerely, with the Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and indeed, the entire Makinde family.
“While I pray for the eternal repose of the soul of the dear departed, I equally request the Almighty to grant them, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“I wish the family God’s provision as they prepare to give Mama a befitting burial.”
