It now crystal clear that the Nigerian Delta born Afrobeat singer, Otuata Emeka Seun, popularly known as Styleh, seems not relenting as he continues to rev up his games. He has proven himself to be a force to reckon with in the music industry with his rare craft and growing career.
He has worked with prominent personalities and legends in the music industry such as the Fuji icon, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere on a song titled ‘Portable’ and also featured the Late Fatai Rolling Dollar in a song called “Iwoni”.
Meanwhile, in a bid to express the love he has for Ibadan, her culture and people, he has just released a new anthem for the brown roof city entitled ‘What’s Up Ibadan’, a song dedicated to the Ibadan people and the new Ibadan king, who is the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lekan Balogun.
The song, however, eulogizes the Ibadan women, her culture, the people in general and highlights some important places in Ibadan, while he confesses what what amazes and attracts him to the ancient brown roof city.
Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan recently, when he visited the new king with his crew called Stylians Nation, he shared what inspired the song. According to him: “The main reason why I decided to do a song for Ibadan is simply because first of all, I am an African man and I believe so much in culture. I have been to many places in Ibadan and I discovered they have beautiful culture and the city is also very beautiful.
“I love Ibadan people because they are very accommodating, loving and caring. I might marry an Ibadan lady he said with a smile. The people are nice and they are very accommodating, so I believe they deserve an evergreen song to appreciate them.”
On what he intends to achieve with the song, he said “I just want to take Ibadan to the world by promoting this song in other part of this country and also outside Nigeria in other to promote our sweet African culture.”
He then added: “The song has since been enjoying massive airplay and we have some billboards and stickers and other publicity materials flying around Ibadan to ensure the song gets to the people. We are also going to shoot the video as soon as possible, infact we are working on it presently.”
Also speaking on his visit to the new king, he said it was important to seek the endorsement of the king and also felicitate with him and the good people of Ibadan.
“I am here with my team on a courtesy visit to our new great king to share with him our recent activities in promoting the Ibadan culture and values and to seek his endorsement on the new song I made specially for the good people of Ibadan. We are so happy that the reception was great and I can say that the king is very accommodating. I pray his reign comes with peace, long life and abundant blessings for the people.”
