A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Wale Ohu, has said that it is wrong to still refer to Chief Akin Oke as outgoing Caretaker Chairman of the party.
He said because he ceased to be so after the Congress which was conducted on 30th October, 2021 at the Obafemi Awolowo Liberty Stadium in Ibadan.
Chief Wale Ohu who served as the Chairman of Ogun State Congress Committee stated this while featuring on RAYPOWER 95.1 FM popular current affairs program ‘Politics Today’ on Monday in Ibadan.
He stressed that he made all the members of Ogun state APC executive to resign before he conducted Congress in the state.
When reminded by Olayemi Afolabi, the Presenter who anchored the program that Baba Akin Oke has gone ahead to Abuja to submit names of new Oyo party executives which had Abu Gbadamosi as Oyo APC state chairman, Chief Ohu waved it off saying Mr Isaac Omodewu emerged through duly authorized congress of 30th October unlike Abu Gbadamosi that didn’t emerge via any congress.
“I made Ogun State APC executives to resign before I conducted State Congress in Ogun state.
“So Baba Akin Oke ceased to be Caretaker Chairman after October 30 State Congress in Oyo state. They short themselves in the leg by not going to the venue of the State Congress”
Chief Ohu further informed members of the public that those that protested and held Oyo state congress committee Chairman, Lawal Gambo hostage are miscreants adding that they lack political strategy.
