A statement by the Chairman of the media and publicity sub-committee of the CCPC, Chief Sunday Dare, said the traditional ruler inaugurated the committee via a zoom meeting on Friday.
According to Dare, the monarch appreciated members of the committee for accepting to serve and taking the time to attend the inauguration.
He charged the committee to organise and execute a programme that would leave an indelible mark in the history of Ogbomoso land.
The traditional ruler further charged the members to work harmoniously and foster mutual respect to ensure the success of the event.
Speaking, the CCPC chairman, Professor Adeshola Adepoju, urged members of the committee to do their best to ensure the coronation was successful.
He urged sons and daughters of Ogbomoso land at home and in the diaspora as well as friends of the town to support the new traditional ruler in bringing more development to Ogbomoso.
“We are assuring Kabiyesi that we are going to set standards that people in the South West region of Nigeria will emulate.
“The development of Ogbomoso land is our collective responsibility, hence, we must all cooperate with His Imperial Majesty.
“We are all part of this because we want to incorporate the installation of His Imperial Majesty as a standard that will be a reference point.
“I, therefore, urge all committee members to work together without infighting, which could stand as a cog in the wheel of progress,” he said.
The coronation, according to the statement, is scheduled for December 2023. A date would be picked by the Oyo State Government.
Other leaders of the 36-member committee are AVM Bolaji Adigun (Rtd), who will serve as co-chairman, while Rear Admiral Jacob Ajani (Rtd) will serve as the Secretary-General.
