A member of the House of Representatives from Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Hon. Shina Peller, has expressed his condolences to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrasak, on the death of his father, Abdulganiyu Folorunsho Abdulrasak, who died today at the age of 93.
This was contained in a statement released by the Iseyin-born Federal Legislator’s Press Secretary, Kola Popoola, where Hon. Peller described the deceased as a great loss to Kwara state and Nigeria at large.
Hon. Peller described the late legal luminary, who was the first lawyer from the Northern Nigeria, the first Kwara State Finance Commissioner, and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Cote d’ Ivoire, as the country’s valuable asset whose legacy will linger in the memory of all.
The statement read:
“Hon. Shina Peller condoles with the family of His Excellency, the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdul-Razaq, over the death of his father, Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Folorunsho Abdul-Razaq, SAN (OFR) at the age of 93.
“The late Abdulganiyu Abdulrasak was an accomplished and consummate man who did not only live for himself, but the society at large.
“His legacy is indelible. He served our dear country in various capacities. He was outstanding even as the first lawyer from Nigeria’s northern region.
“He was an accomplished and consummate man. I commiserate with his loved ones and the entire people of Kwara State. May Almighty Allah forgive his transgressions and grant him Al Jannah Firdaus.”
