The Ibarapa Youths Vanguard, has applauded the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde over the nomination of the 27-year-old Seun Fakorede as a commissioner in the state, adding that the impressive performance of the 32-year-old Oyo Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has improved the trust in youth competency.
The Group which described Governor Seyi Makinde as a man of integrity who promised to appoint a youth in his twenties as commissioner in his cabinet if elected, noted that his member are more excited because it comes from Ibarapa region.
In a statement signed by the Coordinator of the group, Ojebola Matthew Opeoluwa, the group acknowledged Seun Fakorede as a true son of the soil with high prospect, whose contributions to capacity development since his University days at the Obafemi Awolowo University deserves commendation.
According to the statement, the young commissioner is an engineer, entrepreneur, consultant and author, adding that is a proactive professional with an incorruptible passion for Youth Empowerment, Good Governance and Nation Building.
“We were excited when Governor Seyi Makinde appointed the 32-year-old Barrister Seun Asamu as Commissioner for Energy after his huge support to the emergence of our own brother, the Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin as the Speaker.
“Honestly, we felt the Governor has done enough for Ibarapa youths. The nomination of Seun Fakorede really comes as an amazing shock from the Oyo State government.
“While congratulating all the elected, appointed and nominated youths in Oyo State cabinet and parliament, we charge them to always make Nigerian youths proud.
“We implore Ogundoyin, Seun Asamu and Seun Fakorede to deploy their youthful energy, experience, commitment, local and international networks towards rescuing our dear State from massive youth unemployment and underdevelopment,” Ojebola added.
