Deputy-Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Oloye ‘Bayo Adelabu, surprised many people as he observed Eid prayer at the Agodi Eid Praying ground.
Adelabu, who is the Agbaakin Parakoyi of Ibadanland is rumoured to be eyeing the governorship seat of Oyo State come 2019.
The religion of the 48-year old financial expert, who is one of the many grandsons of late Alhaji Adegoke Adelabu Penkelemesi, was unknown.
Close sources revealed that his Muslim name is AbdulWaheed and that he has been telling those who care to listen that he is a Muslim.
The young Adelabu, who was an Executive Director at First Bank before his appointment, was said to be one of the closest men of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji AbdulAzeez Arisekola.
At the praying ground, he was pictured in the front row alongside aMuslim leader, Chief Lamidi Ajadi; Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi; and Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Olalekan Alli; Ekarun Olubadan, Oba Amidu Ajibade; and Osi Balogun, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola.
