Ahead of the ward and local government congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Engr Sarafadeen Omirinde Ahmed has Inaugurated a 11-Man committee.
This was contain in a statement made available to newsmen by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Chairman, Mukaila Muideen on Thursday.
According to the statement, the committee comprises a stakeholder from each of the eleven wards in Saki West Local Government.
Omirinde urged each of the committee members to liaise with the councilors and other leaders in their various wards.
The chairman reiterated his commitment to a rancour- free, peaceful and united congress adding that all stakeholders will be carried along.
The committee members include Alh Rafiu Adekunle – Ward 1, Hon Femi Julius – Ward 2, Alh Abdulrasaq Yusuf – Ward 3, Hon Rasheed Salaudeen – Ward 4, Alh Waheed Olaniyan – Ward 5.
Others are Alh Yisau Awokesoro – Ward 6, Engr. Hammed Gbadamosi – Ward 7, Alh Nasiru Wasalam – Ward 8, Alh Ganiyu Alaka – Ward 9, Alh Nasiru Salam Nascotech – Ward 10 and Alh Sikiru Ikuogboogun – Ward 11.
In another development, the council chairman received the Board of Joint Farmer Community Initiative (JFCI).
The visit was based on the need for the establishment of Farmers Bank in Saki West Local Government to foster an advanced and sustainable socio-economic development in Oyo state.
While speaking, Alh Mukaila Aderibigbe, the JFCI Board Chairman emphasised the significant role the establishment of the bank would bring to the community.
He made it known that the main objective was to develop farmers and the youths to invest more in Agriculture adding that this will be in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Agricultural and the state government.
Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Political Matters, Hon. Lukman Adisa eulogized the Joint farmer Community Initiative and other stakeholders in Agriculture.
He added that the initiative will be a great opening for the good people of Saki West and Oke-Ogun region as this would improve vastly the community and socio-economic development.
He urged the committee to ensure transparency and accountability in the course of their work adding that the farmer’s bank can collaborate with the OYSADA for effective and efficient business.
The chairman in his response appreciated Joint Farmer Community Initiative saying the initiative was a great developmental project which will have impacts on all and sundry as it would draw foreign investors to Saki.
Omirinde commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the tremendous achievement recorded so far in Agribusiness of the state.
He further said the initiative of training Youths in Nasarawa state will reduce the rate of unemployment across the state.
He urged the committee to be trust worthy and accountable to assure the community they’re in safe hands.
He said the stakeholders in town were aware of the initiative likewise the farmers. He promised to table the matter before council chairmen across the 10 local government in Oke Ogun.
